This was a fun little place. Did a little night boarding after playing at Timberline all day. Free with Indy pass, so it was definitely worth the price.

If they have snow this is a fantastic place for a family with young skiers and snowboarders. We got a family pass last winter and our 5 and 9 year old had a fantastic time. There is 1 chair lift with 6 runs (kinda) and the beginner runs were a good place to start. After a few days both kids were happy going down most runs. If you can go on a Friday I'd do it as there are less people. Also keep an eye out for the junior racers practice and race schedule. It was really packed for practice and races. Last year was a great snow year but the years before they barely opened if at all. If there is a lot of early snow I think a family pass is a good idea. If they don't have a bunch of snow by Christmas, it seems like a gamble that you can get your money's worth. All in all a great place for a family weekend in the winter.

Looking for a small, quiet, family ski hill that won't break the bank...you FOUND it!! This place is a throwback to yesteryears!! Don't be expecting lots of terrain or high speed lifts since there's only one fixed grip double and a short rope tow! It's a wonderful place to let the kids go free and enjoy some days of past! The people here are the best...it's like skiing at your family's place and these folks are your family. Just have reasonable expectations and enjoy stepping back in time for a bit. You'll enjoy it!

Excellent small hill choice for little kids and beginners. With only 1 lift and a few main routes near the top of the lift, it's easy to find your little ones once you let them off on their own. The price is much more affordable for those on a budget, and the gear rentals are included with your season pass. Our kids are able to switch between skis and boards at any time, which allows them to practice both and try out whichever they aren't already familiar with.

Went to Cooper Spur for the first time this last weekend. I really loved the drive there from Portland to Hood River. There was plenty of parking when I pulled up. I got a half day pass and a season parking pass that’s good in multiple places for about $70. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There’s only one ski lift (and a tow rope for learning) so not crazy options compared to others on the area. That being said, I absolutely loved going here and plan on going back as soon as possible. You have a few options of difficulty to choose from. All are very spacious and offer plenty of room to feel comfortable. It’s great for beginners and intermediates. They also did a great job of clearing the lift area as you get off. All in all I can’t recommend this place enough!

The people at both the resort and the ski area were fantastic, very helpful and accommodating. Brian is an awesome ski instructor, took extra time outside of my son’s lesson to take him up the ski lift for his first time- thanks for going above and beyond! We stayed at Homestead Cabin at the resort, and it was comfy, roomy, and clean. Perfect trip for my kids’ first time skiing!

Love Cooper Spur Ski and Tubing Area!!! It is like going back in time when the smaller resorts were around and people genuinely cared about their customers! I’ve been their 3 times this season to snow shoe and love the trails around the area... The resort is beautiful and still rustic with the best views on the mountain.... friendly staff and a great rental facility on site. We love the remoteness of the area and the beauty and solitude one finds there. What a Jewel on the mountain!!!’
